"A Brazilian doctor who was charged with killing seven patients to free up beds at a hospital intensive care unit may have been responsible for as many as 300 deaths, according to a Health Ministry investigator.

...Prosecutors said Dr Virginia Soares de Souza and her medical team administered muscle relaxing drugs to patients, then reduced their oxygen supply, causing them to die of asphyxia at the  Universitary Evangelical Hospital in the southern city of Curitiba....

De Souza, a 56-year-old widow, was arrested last month and charged with seven counts of aggravated first degree murder. Three other doctors, three nurses and a physiotherapist who worked under De Souza have also been charged with murder.

...More cases are expected to emerge as investigators come through 1,700 medical records of patients who died in the last seven years at the hospital, where De Souza headed the intensive care unit.

...Parana state prosecutors asked police on Wednesday to investigate whether more hospital employees, including former managers, were involved in the case. "

"Eugenio Chipkevitch (?, Ukraine, April 26, 1954) is a former doctor and former psychotherapist Ukrainian Jewish descent, naturalized Brazilian, accused of sexually abusing their adolescent patients in  a the Institute paulista of Adolescence in the city of São Paulo, having also recorded video footage, which were found in a garbage by a telephone engineer, that denounced the images. He was arrested and sentenced to prison terms of 114 years in prison for indecent assault and corruption of minors....

He graduated in 1978 at the Faculty of Medicine, University of São Paulo (USP), was Head of the Department of Teens Children's Hospital Darcy Vargas, in São Paulo, and a member of associations such as the Society for Research on Adolescence (Society for Research in adolescence) of the United States.

Introduced in Brazil the medical specialty known as hebiatria (treatment of adolescents and their problems).

In 2002, a technician for a phone company it was with another helper in the repair of telephone line, was surprised to see a large garbage bag next to the post in a bucket of rubble. To see what was inside, he found several videotapes in format camcorder. Decided he would take home to know which ones were good quality and discard those that had not. He said that there were 35 tapes in a trash bag. When watching the tapes, was surprised by a man abusing young. In over 15 hours of recordings, of which only a small part aired, showed scenes of sexual abuse against about 40 victims - all boys, aged 8 and 17. The doctor would sedate patients, under the pretext of applying them vaccine after the undressed and settled on the stretcher. While unconscious, was caressing them, took them in her lap, manipulating his genitals."

Ao assistir as fitas, ficou surpreso com um homem abusando de jovens. Ele repassou as duas fitas a Rede Globo e ao SBT e o restante para Polícia Civil nos dias seguintes.

Enquanto estavam inconscientes, fazia-lhes carícias, pegava-os no colo, manipulava seus órgãos genitais."
