"Stephan Letter (born 17 September 1978 in Herdecke, North Rhine-Westphalia) is a German former nurse and serial killer known to be responsible for the killings of at least 29 patients while he worked at a hospital in Sonthofen, Bavaria between January 2003 and July 2004. The acts have been described as Germany's largest number of killings since World War II...
...Stephan Letter was a nurse at a hospital that treated a large elderly population.During his employment from January 2003 to July 2004, a pattern of more than 80 deaths occurred on his shifts. Officials exhumed the bodies of more than 40 patients, but another 38 had already been cremated. Lesser became a suspect after officials learned that large quantitites of drugs, including the muscle relaxant lysthenon, had gone missing from the hospital.
...He confessed to some of the killings, but insisted that he acted out of sympathy and a desire to end the suffering of sick patients. However, the prosecution indicated that Letter was not the assigned nurse for some of the patients and that some of the patients were in stable condition and due to be released from the hospital."

O médico sedava os pacientes, sob o pretexto de aplicar-lhes vacina, depois os despia e os acomodava na maca. Enquanto estavam inconscientes, fazia-lhes carícias, pegava-os no colo, manipulava seus órgãos genitais."

Dr. Andrew Holton...
"A doctor who gave hundreds of children mind- numbing drugs after misdiagnosing them with epilepsy was allowed to work on for years despite warnings, it has emerged.
Consultant paediatrician Andrew Holton, who had no specialist training in epilepsy, ignored tests showing the youngsters did not suffer the condition and prescribed medication which turned them into 'zombies'.
Concerns about his attitude to patients were raised in 1995, and about his abilities three years later, but he wasn't suspended by Leicester Royal Infirmary until May 2001.
The possibility of subjecting Dr Holton's work to independent scrutiny was raised in 1999, but the hospital decided merely to monitor him themselves.
Yesterday that decision was branded a 'serious error of judgment' by an independent inquiry panel set up by the Department of Health.
Angry parents of children misdiagnosed by Dr Holton accused the University Hospitals of Leicester (UHL) NHS Trust of treating consultants 'like gods'.
Sue Parr of Enderby, Leicester, whose son Peter, 16, was wrongly diagnosed, said: 'I had tears in my eyes as the chief executive of the trust said sorry to us, because it is nothing but a glib word. 'We are angry the previous concerns have been revealed, and appalled they were not acted upon. This shows that consultants are treated like gods and it is believed that they cannot make mistakes.'
Some of the cases Dr Holton diagnosed began with children complaining of headaches or parents concerned about bad behaviour, clumsiness and falling behind at school.
When the children were given the drugs some became violent, others listless and some suffered temporary disabilities which left them in wheelchairs.
Out of 1,948 children, Dr Holton misdiagnosed epilepsy in 618 and wrongly put 500 on high dosages of drugs.
So far 400 families have launched legal action against the UHL NHS Trust, which could cost the Health Service £10million.
Dr Holton, 50, began work at Leicester Royal Infirmary in 1990. Complaints from patients and other paediatricians in the mid to late 1990s continued until his suspension.
One complainant, the inquiry learned, said Dr Holton had an 'abrupt approach, a tendency to rudeness and an apparently dismissive attitude towards parents and carers'.
It also discovered that Dr Alun Elias- Jones, then the hospital's clinical director, received letters from community paediatricians alarmed at Dr Holton's rate of epilepsy diagnosis and the 'unacceptable levels of clinical risk in children' late in 1998.
Dr Holton's own neurology nurse, Ann Brown, had expressed her fears about his methods and the high doses of drugs prescribed in a letter to the clinical director in 2000.
Dr Peter Reading, chief executive of the UHL NHS Trust, accepted that mistakes were made and expressed regret. The Trust is reviewing its complaints procedure.
A spokesman for Epilepsy Action said there were too few experts in childhood epilepsy, adding: 'The situation in Leicester could quite easily have happened elsewhere.'
Solicitors for the families are bringing similar, unrelated claims against Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, and hospitals in Doncaster, Manchester and Warrington.
Dr Holton has left the hospital but is thought to be retraining in another medical field."

Dr. Swango...
"Joseph Michael Swango (born October 21, 1954) is an American serial killer and former licensed physician. It is estimated that Swango has been involved in as many as 60 fatal poisonings of patients and colleagues, though he only admitted to causing four deaths. He was sentenced to life imprisonment...
...Swango was born in Tacoma, Washington and raised in Quincy, Illinois, the middle child of Muriel and John Virgil Swango. Swango's father was a career U.S. Army officer who served in the Vietnam War and was troubled by alcoholism...Upon his return from Vietnam, Swango's father became depressed...
...Even earlier, several students and faculty members had raised concerns about his competence to practice medicine...Swango got a surgical internship at Ohio State University Medical Center in 1983, to be followed by a residency in neurosurgery. While he worked at the Rhodes Hall wing at Wexner, nurses noticed that apparently healthy patients began dying mysteriously with alarming frequency. Each time, Swango had been the floor intern. One nurse caught him injecting some "medicine" into a patient who later became strangely ill. The nurses reported their concerns to administrators, but were met with accusations of paranoia.
...Soon, many of the paramedics on staff began noticing that whenever Swango prepared the coffee or brought any food in, several of them usually became violently ill, with no apparent cause...
...In 1989, Swango, now released from prison...He then found a job as a laboratory technician for ATICoal in Newport News, now Vanguard Energy, a division of CITA Logistics. During his time there, several employees sought medical attention with complaints of persistent and increasing stomach pains...
...In 1991, Swango legally changed his name to Daniel J. Adams and tried to apply for a residency program at Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling, West Virginia. In July 1992, he began working at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
...The AMA temporarily lost track of Swango, who managed to find a place in the psychiatric residency program at the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine. His first rotation was in the internal medicine department at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Northport, New York. Once again his patients began dying for no explicable reason.
...In November 1994, he went to Zimbabwe and used forged documents to obtain a job at Mnene Lutheran Mission Hospital in the center of the country. Again, his patients began dying mysteriously...
...he hired prominent lawyer David Coltart to enable him to return to clinical practice. He also appealed to the authorities at Mpilo Hospital, Bulawayo, to allow him in the interim to continue working voluntarily there.
...until mid-1994, when the FBI found out he was living in Atlanta and working as a chemist at a computer equipment company's wastewater facility...
...Swango had sensed that the net was closing on him; he crossed the border to Zambia and subsequently to Namibia where he found temporary medical work. He was charged in absentia with poisonings. In March 1997, he applied for a job at the Royal Hospital in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia...
...As part of that investigation, prosecutors exhumed the bodies of three patients and found poisonous chemicals in them. They also found evidence that Swango paralyzed patient Baron Harris with an injection of what was supposedly a sedative. The sedative caused him to lapse into a coma...
...Swango lied about the death of Cynthia Ann McGee, a patient he treated during his internship at OSU. Swango claimed she suffered heart failure; he had killed her by giving her a potassium injection that stopped her heart..."

Jack, the fear...
When we think of prostitution this usually comes to mind as being the oldest profession in the world, then why is so hard trying to understand it, make her explicit, clear.
Sex workers, prostitutes as they are more often called are a tribe that has for centuries served as guinea pigs, a scapegoat that many use to exalt their repressed desires that stand out by refinement of malice...
As a guinea pigs their fears are study ...and the research started like this...
“Jack the Ripper....an unidentified serial killer who was active in the largely impoverished areas in and around the Whitechapel district of London in 1888... Attacks ascribed to the Ripper typically involved female prostitutes from the slums whose throats were cut prior to abdominal mutilations. The removal of internal organs from at least three of the victims led to proposals that their killer possessed anatomical or surgical knowledge
Eleven separate murders, stretching from 3 April 1888 to 13 February 1891...”
“The concentration of the killings at the weekend, and within a few streets of each other, has indicated to many that the Ripper was employed during the week and lived locally. Others have thought the killer was an educated upper-class man, possibly a doctor or an aristocrat, who ventured into Whitechapel from a more well-to-do area such theories draw on cultural perceptions such as fear of the medical profession, distrust of modern science, or the exploitation of the poor by the rich.”
then this fear was reactivated to study since the end of the war...
U.K.“Jack the stripper ...an unknown serial killer responsible for what came to be known as the London "nude murders" between 1964 and 1965...”
“He murdered six — possibly eight —prostitutes, whose nude bodies were discovered around London or dumped in the River Thames...”
“Like the Jack the Ripper killings, the Stripper's reign of terror seemed to cease on its own, and there were few solid clues for police to investigate...”

"Three vice girls from Norwich have now been killed in less than a decade and another is feared dead after vanishing from the city's red light district. Detectives were investigating possible links with the unsolved murder in 1992 of Natalie Pearman, 16, and the disappearance 18 months ago of Kellie Pratt, 29...In January, the body of another Norwich prostitute, Hayley Curtis, 23, was found off the A3 in Hants."

All the victims were young brunettes named Maria, allegedly prostitutes and drug addicts and were ripped with a sharp object That was not a knife.
There was little or no evidence found on the crime scene: no blood (except from the victims), hair, footprints, fingerprints, or glove material. The police had some suspects, but no evidence against them.”

The first victim...
translation:“Tina was dead, strangled, suffered stab wounds in the chest area, and the killer was removed surgically disemboweled her vagina, heart, intestines and the liver. from police to the coroner savvy, everyone was shocked by the cruelty of the crime, as well as the total absence of traces that could help identify the author of this monstrosity... Portuguese police arrived to investigate a man who had written years before the first crime, a book called The RIPPER LISBON, and narrated crimes committed much like in real life...that would be investigated Luis da Silva Campos” (Degree in Chemistry from the Faculty of Science, University of Lisbon where he became professor...)
the other victims suffered the same refinement of malice...

Nurse Beverley Gail Allitt..."the Angel of Death"
"Beverley Gail Allitt (born 4 October 1968) is an English serial killer who was convicted of murdering four children, attempting to murder three other children, and causing grievous bodily harm to a further six children. The crimes were committed over a period of 59 days between February and April 1991 in the children's ward at Grantham and Kesteven Hospital, Lincolnshire, where Allitt was employed as a State Enrolled Nurse. She administered large doses of insulin to at least two victims and a large air bubble was found in the body of another, but police were unable to establish how all the attacks were carried out. In May 1993, at Nottingham Crown Court, she received 13 life sentences for the crimes...She is detained at Rampton Secure Hospital in Nottinghamshire.
Victims
- Liam Taylor (seven weeks old) – was admitted to the ward for a chest infection and was murdered on 21 February 1991.
- Timothy Hardwick (eleven years old) – a boy with cerebral palsy who was admitted to the ward after having an epileptic seizure. He was murdered on 5 March 1991.
- Kayley Desmond (then one year old) – admitted to the ward for a chest infection. Allitt attempted to murder her on 8 March 1991 but the child was resuscitated and transferred to another hospital, where she recovered.
- Paul Crampton (then five months old) – admitted to the ward for a chest infection on 20 March 1991. Allitt attempted to murder him with an insulin overdose on three occasions the day before he was transferred to another hospital, where he recovered.
- Bradley Gibson (then five years old) – admitted to the ward for pneumonia. He suffered two cardiac arrests on 21 March 1991, due to Allitt's administering insulin overdoses, before he was transferred to another hospital, where he recovered.
- Yik Hung Chan (also known as Henry, then two years old) – admitted to the ward following a fall on 21 March 1991. He suffered an oxygen desaturation attack before he was transferred to another hospital, where he recovered.
- Becky Phillips (two months old) – admitted to the ward for gastroenteritis on 1 April 1991. She was administered an insulin overdose by Allitt and died at home two days later.
- Katie Phillips (then two months old) – Becky's twin was admitted to the ward as a precaution following the death of her sister. She had to be resuscitated twice after unexplained apnoeic episodes (which were later found to be caused by insulin and potassium overdoses). Following the second time that she stopped breathing, she was transferred to another hospital but, by this time, had suffered permanent brain damage, partial paralysis and partial blindness due to oxygen deprivation...
- Claire Peck (fifteen months old) – admitted to the ward following an asthma attack on 22 April 1991. After being put on a ventilator, she was left alone in Allitt's care for a short interval during which time she went into cardiac arrest. She was resuscitated but died after a second episode of cardiac arrest, again following a period when she was left alone with Allitt.
Allitt had attacked thirteen children, four fatally, over a 59 day period before she was brought up on charges for her crimes. It was only following the death of Claire Peck that medical staff became suspicious of the number of cardiac arrests on the children's ward and police were called in. It was found that Allitt was the only nurse on duty for all the attacks on the children and she also had access to the drugs."

"Beverley Gail Allitt (born 4 October 1968, Corby Glen, Lincolnshire, England), dubbed by the media the Angel of Death...Her method of murder was to inject the child with potassium chloride (to cause cardiac arrest), or with insulin (to induce lethal hypoglycemia).
...As a child, Beverley wore bandages and casts over wounds that she would not allow to be examined. She suffered from a volatile temperament, and became aggressive toward others. She had gall bladder pain, headaches, urinary infections, uncontrolled vomiting, blurred vision, appendicitis, back trouble, and ulcers. Beverley persuaded a doctor to remove a healthy appendix then failed to heal because she kept plucking at the surgical scar. "

Nurse Arnfinn Nesset...
"Arnfinn Nesset (born October 25, 1936) is a Norwegian former nurse, nursing home manager and convicted serial killer. His crimes include the murders of at least 22 people, as well as attempted murder, document forgery and embezzlement. He may have murdered up to 138 people. In 1983 he was convicted of poisoning 22 patients and sentenced to 21 years in prison. He served 12 years and 10 years supervision, and is thought to be living under an assumed name.
...Born in Trøndelag in 1936 out of wedlock, Nesset was raised by his mother and remained with her throughout his upbringing and adulthood, living at her childhood home. His father was absent from his life and he never established contact with him. He was educated as a registered nurse and by 1977 he was hired as a head nurse at a larger nursing home in Orkdal municipality.
...During the summer and autumn of 1981, a series of suspicious deaths was uncovered at the nursing home in Orkdal, Sør-Trøndelag where Nesset was working as manager... Arnfinn Nesset initially confessed to the murders of 27 patients who he claimed to have killed by injecting them with suxamethonium chloride, a muscle relaxing drug."
